Privacy Policy.

Your data privacy and security are important to us at Internet Software Sciences. In support of upcoming changes to EU data protection law, we’re updating our Privacy Notice and Terms of Use in May, 2018.

Here’s what this means to you:

Improved clarity and transparency
We’ve re-organized our Privacy Notice to make it clearer and more understandable including information on what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights that are available to you.

GDPR updates
We’re preparing for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means new requirements as to how we process EU personal data. As a result, we’re updating our Privacy Notice and Terms of Use to better explain our relationship with our clients and end-users.

I. About Internet Software Sciences

Internet Software Sciences provides help desk software and software support/development for their Web+Center help desk product.   In order to download, activate, and support our users with our product we collect and use your contact information to maintain our customer client relationship.  We may refer to Internet Software Sciences as “ISS” in the privacy document below.

II.  How we collect, use and share information

We primarily collect and use your contact information when you download our software and or purchase our Web+Center products and services.

Information Collected through Our sales and support Websites

We may collect information, including Personal Information, in the following ways:

Information That You Provide To Us Voluntarily

General Contact Information. We will collect any Personal Information that you voluntarily provide to us when you submit our download from on our  Website, subscribe for or enquire about any of our Services. For example, if you submit a sales enquiry or subscribe for a newsletter via our Website web form or request additional information or contact from Internet Software Sciences via email, you will provide us with certain Personal Information, which may include names, company name, address, and email address.

In addition, if you choose to communicate with us via a web form, email, or by telephone, we will keep a copy of our communication together with your email address or phone number and our responses.

Information That We Collect Automatically

We DO NOT capture any internet cookie data when you visit our company website https://www.inet-sciences.com.   If you click from our website into our test sandbox demo, on-line support or customer account manager applications, we do use a “session cookie” which is described below.

Cookies or Similar Technologies

Internet Software Sciences help desk applications that we use for support and sales use cookies. A “cookie” is a string of alphanumeric characters. We only use one type of cookie that may be used for support or sales support which are  “session” cookies. A persistent cookie gets entered by your Web browser into the “Cookies” folder on your computer and remains there after you close your Web browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the site; however, session cookies are held temporarily in your computer’s memory and disappear after you close your browser or shut off your computer.

Both our Web+Center products we sell and our systems we use for support our clients and sales uses “session” based cookies as our mechanism of security authentication.   Since we use session cookies and not persistent cookies, no cookie is stored once your close your browser for better security.

Internet Software Sciences Web+Center application and our support and sales account manager features will NOT work unless you have cookies enabled to allow for session cookies.

Information obtained from 3rd party sources

On occasion, we get sales leads that you requested information about our company and services  through third party vendors which we will add to our sales database for proper followup.

How We Use Information Collected through Our Services and Websites

To Serve Our Clients. We use the information we collect, including Personal Information, to provide our Services to the clients on whose behalf we are acting. For example, in order to provide technical support, we may contact a user (such as employees or staff members) of Internet Software Sciences’s clients using any contact information provided to us.

To Serve You. We use the information we collect, including Personal Information, to respond to any request or query directed to us (for example through web forms or email), to provide you/your organization with our products and Services and to manage our relationship with you. For example, we may respond to a support issue, address any sales or support renewal issues  you may have, to improve the Services we provide, or provide you with information about other products and services we offer that we think you may be interested in.

For Direct Marketing. If we have the right to do so, we will use your Personal Information for the purposes of direct marketing communications to your organization, such as by adding your contact and other details to a marketing database. Where we do, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out, or review any data we have on your record.

For Internal and Service-Related Purposes.We may use any information we collect through the Services and/or any Internet Software Sciences application Websites for internal and service-related purposes and/or invoicing for example.

 

III. Access, Integrity, Retention, and Choices

Access & Correction

If you wish to request access to, correction, or deletion of Personal Information you have submitted through the Internet Software Sciences application  Websites for software support or sales, you can log into your account (see below) or contact ISS at support@inet-sciences.com.

Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation

Internet Software Sciences will use Personal Information only for the purpose of or in ways compatible with the purposes for which it was collected.  We do not share or sell your contact information you provided to us when you download or purchased our services.

Information Retention

We keep information we need to provide our Services only so long as we have a valid business purpose, in accordance with applicable law and our client agreements. For example, to provide you with Services you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we will delete it. If immediate deletion is not possible (for example, because your Personal Information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your Personal Information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible or unless as otherwise required by law.   We typically keep your account information on our database since we will continue to honor a Web+Center license key purchase many years after the original purchase if you want to restore a license key for another purpose after letting an existing license support contract lapse.

User Choices

We include an “unsubscribe” hyperlink in Internet Software Sciences  marketing emails for those users who wish to stop receiving email communication from ISS. The hyperlink will connect to one of our websites, which will confirm the email address that has been automatically unsubscribed and will no longer receive emails from ISS.  This does not remove you from our database of downloads or Web+Center license key purchasers.

Reviewing your data collected by Internet Software Sciences for your product sales and support.

Here at Internet Software Sciences we use our own Web+Center software to both manage our contact /sales business CRM systems as well as our support systems so the features we describe here that help with GDPR compliance can be used for your Web+Center installations too.

Your Internet Software Sciences Account Information

When you download or purchase a Web+Center system or perform some other support entry, we create a customer record for you with basic contact information (name, email, phone, etc) .  We additionally create records for a support case if a support ticket or an invoice if a purchase or quote has been made associated with that record.

You can view all of these records we have once you log into your customer account and select the Account Manager feature.

If you haven’t set up a password yet, you will need to do a password reset first to access your account.  Once you log into the Customer+Center application, select the Account Manager , you will be able to see your contact information, license key (if 3 or more techs), your purchase dates and any support renewals, invoices, quote and other business transactions with Internet Software Sciences.

If you wish to delete any of your account information from our sales database, we are asking that you contact us at Sales@inet-sciences.com.  If you do not have current business contracts with us, we can delete your record.   If you are a currently an active Web+Center user who we need to contact annually for support and upgrades, we will continue to require your contact information.

We never share or sell our customer lists of downloads of our software of your name or emails to other vendors.  Any Internet Software Sciences employee or contractor who does have access to our sales uses it only for specific purposes to serve you with your Web+Center support, maintenance and upgrades.   If you ever wish to opt of our newsletters like this, there is an opt out option at the bottom of every newsletter.

 

Web+Center support records and contact record

Another Web+Center instance system is used to record and track customer’s support tickets.  You may be listed list our contact sales database but not in our support database if you have never opened up an official support ticket with our staff.
We store a separate database of support contacts and tickets.

If you never created any support tickets with ISS, then you won’t have any records in our support database. If you haven’t set up a password yet, you will need to do a password reset first to access your account.  Once you log into the Customer+Center.  you can select the  Account Manager option.  This will show you contact information and any support ticket information with this account.

Offering these same solutions to your Web+Center clients

These features of the Account Manager are setup and configured under the Account Manager Setup option on the System Configuration Menu page in the Tech+Center.

Web+Center cookies use

All (6) of the Web+Center applications (tech+center, customer+center, customer+mobile, tech+mobile, etc) use “session” based cookies such that as soon as you log out or close your browser, the cookie is gone.    This cookie is used to authenticate users for every Web+Center page after they have logged into the appropriate application.

Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes to our information practices from time to time. If we decide to change this Privacy Notice, we will post the changes on this page so visitors to the ISS Website and our clients and the users of their Web+Center  systems are aware of our practices. If we make a material change to our information practices, such as to how we use Personal Information, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice on our website and/or through our clients and obtain consent to any such uses as may be required by law.
