Deploying Web+Center on the new Microsoft Operating System VISTA
Internet Software Sciences has worked with some users to confirm that Web+Center can be installed and run with Microsoft’s new OS VISTA, but the integrated install instructions and formal support are not yet in place for VISTA users. The next release of Web+Center (Version 6.0 – Still in development) will have additional install instructions that include installing with the VISTA OS. To get Web+Center configured and working on Vista does not require changes the Web+Center software, but just the configuration and installation are different. In the short term, Web+Center user Michael Altman from Falling Water, Inc, has graciously put together an Web+Center install document for VISTA. He also configured the free SQL*Server database called SQL*Express so those instructions are included in this document. This document can be found our website at https://www.inet-sciences.com/VistaInstructions.doc. This document should be used in conjunction with the existing 5.0 installation instructions and other user guide information.
