Pocket+Center
Technical Specifications


The Pocket+Center is the newest web-based component that integrates with the other suite of Web+Center components Customer+Center, Tech+Center, and Business+Center.

The Pocket+Center is a scaled down and re-engineered Tech+Center interface for the Pocket PC devices running a Pocket Browser.

This component allows remote Pocket PC users to log into the Web+Center application as a technician and perform most of the important tech functions such as customer searches, updates, and case tracking, management, and other calendar functions. This allows for real-time remote access to the Web+Center application with a handheld device.

Pocket+Center is a optional Technician applications to allow technicians to access the Web+Center application with Pocket PC handheld devices.

There are two ways to test this component listed below:

Pocket+Center Features:

  • Web-Based Interface - Scaled down Tech+Center application to be easily navigated on a Pocket PC sized browser.
  • Customer Database - Create, update, and search customer records.

  • Asset Management Database - Create, update, and log cases for particular equipment.

  • Case Record Database - Create, update, track and manage and search case records.

  • Multi-Criteria Case Search - Perform complex case record searches without a knowledge of SQL.

  • Integrated Email - Numerous automatic email notifications for customers and techs are sent when Tech updates support cases using the Pocket+Center.

  • Security - User-Id/Password security to prevent un-authorized access to site and database, as well as other additional security features.

  • Calendar / Scheduler - A complete group event calendar and scheduler.

  • Internationalization - All of the label text can now be completely internationalized for use in any language.

Hardware and Software Requirements:

  • Windows NT/2000/2003/XP (Windows Version)
  • MS SQL Server 7.0/SQL 2000 Database OR MS Access DB Driver (Installed with Windows OS)
  • 300MHz Pentium PC (or faster)
  • 32 Mbytes RAM (or more)
  • 2.0 GB hard drive (or more for large DBs)
  • MS Internet Infornation Server (IIS)
  • Full time Internet Connection or LAN connectivity
