East Alton School District 13
"We use this software as a Help Desk application for the teachers and staff in our
district. We have 4 schools that staff 150 employees and approximately 350 computers
throughout these locations. We ask that our staff submit their technical problems
through Help Desk. This has helped us dramatically. We only have two tech. guys,
and trying to keep track of all the problems was not an easy task. Web + Center
has changed that however. This is a great tool for school admins. Its easy to
add to your school webpage and allows you and others easy access. Not to mention
it does all the paperwork for you. This is a great organizational tool and comes
highly recommenced."

Upper Canada District School Board
The Upper Canada District School Board is geographically one of
the largest public school boards in Ontario. The UCDSB covers 12,000
square kilometres (18 times the size of the Toronto DSB). A wide diverse
background of culture and activities for persons of all ages can be
found in the region. We are bordered by the St. Lawrence River to the
south, Quebec to the east, Ottawa-Carleton to the north and the lake
district to the west. We include the counties of Lanark, Leeds,
Grenville, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott and Russell. We have
107 elementary and secondary schools. Alternate and Continuing Education
is available in over 30 campuses. We have one main Board Office and
three Regional Education Centres. Each Regional Education Centre has the
responsibility for approximately 13,000 students in 36-37 schools. Each
of our 17 rural high schools serves an area larger than Toronto's DSB
which has 114 high schools. We have approximately 25,000 students
enrolled in our elementary schools and just under 14,000 secondary
students. 2500 additional students are enrolled in
alternative/continuing education. We serve 40,000 students in total. We
employ just under 4,000 staff. Our Budget for 2000-2001 is $244.2
million.
Tech+Center
Each regional Supervisor distributes the work using Tech+Center. Our
prime reason for using Tech+Center was for tracking purposes. As a result
from an independent study we found that we had no means of supporting
our claims of the amount of repairs and support that we actually provide
to the system. I use Tech+Center more here in the west than my other 2
regional supervisors. The web interface allows my techs to add there
own calls on site, thus eliminating the need for phone calls or e-mails.
The product itself is very useful for reference as well, why "re-create
the wheel" once a solution is found for a particular problem all my
techs know the solution! Thus saving time and energy. Overall Tech+Center has
proven to be a valuable management tool and a great resource for my
techs.

"The Web+Center is used for Technical Training of Students in the Cisco Networking
Academy as well as support to the school. One of the competencies of the training
academy is Diagnosing and Troubleshooting. Trouble management is a core component of
teaching IT. The customers love the Web+Center which is evidenced in the Customer
Satisfaction survey, and the students learn critical skills of customer service and
management by being able to choose and prioritize cases and work on different IT problems.
Web+Center’s simple call tracking solution is helping students to build independence and
self confidence."
